Alice Clayton West Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Hayes: Alice Clayton West "Tiny baby" went into the arms of Jesus on May 22, 2018. The lights of Heaven were shinning on her as the angels carried her through the gates. Alice was a lovely Christian lady with a beautiful smile. For many years she enjoyed working at Hayes Plaza Pharmacy as a pharmacy tech. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Alice was absolutely devoted to her family, respecting, supporting, and loving them unconditionally. Her memory will be carried on in the legacy of love which is now each of us – the lives she formed and touched by her love. She was preceded in death by parents, Willie and Alice West; husband, James C. West, Sr.; and siblings, Welford West, Vernell Berry, Edgar West and Kitty Dawson. She is the mother of two daughters, Susan Bonner (Steve) and Martha Robbins; son, J. C. West (Carrie); six grandchildren, Jamie Moore (Lee), Michelle Stith (Chris), Trenna Reeves (Scott), Kelly West, Jason Bonner and Joshua Bonner; five great grandchildren, Ian and Corynn Stith, Bailey Moore, Britney Hartleben (Neale) and Dylan Reeves; and one great great grandson, Mason. Funeral service officiated by Reverend Bud Goude will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2018, at Gloucester Point Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the service on Sunday, from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church. The family extends a special thank you to the wonderful caregivers, Kim and Kendra and all the hospice CNA’s and Teresa Hogge for the loving care given to our mother, Alice and her family. In memory of Alice the family desires memorial contributions be given to the Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P. O. Box 9, Bena, VA 23018, or Gloucester Point Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O.
