Barbara Swain

January 23, 1955 - February 26, 2022

It is with both sorrow and great joy that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Barbara Swain into her Heavenly home on Saturday, February 26, 2022. Barbara was a special soul with a deep love for the elderly; she spent her entire career in service to them. She thoroughly loved sunbathing on the beach. It was her happy place! She was a faithfully devoted woman of God, and she told openly of her faith. She quite literally praised Jesus with nearly every breath. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Barbara is survived by her devoted husband Mike, her daughters Angie Norris (Allen), & Tracey Swain-Chapman (Adam), her 4 grandchildren, and her great-grandson. She gave so much of herself to all of us, and we could not be more grateful for the woman she was. A receiving of friends will be held in her honor on Thursday, March 3, 2022, from 6-7:30 pm at Hogg Funeral Home in Hayes, VA. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Robert McTurnal, will be held at BridgePoint Church 10487 Harcum Rd. Gloucester, VA at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 4, 2022, with a graveside service to follow at Windsor Gardens Cemetery. Services under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home.
