Bessie Rowe Berry, age 100 of Hayes, died at her home on Monday February 8, 2020. Daughter of the late Samuel Emmett and Mildred Riley Rowe, a lifelong member of Union Baptist Church, Achilles, and retired as librarian from Gloucester High School. Ms. Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Franklin Berry, Sr., sons Robert F. Berry, Jr. and David E. Berry. She is survived by a daughter Susan Berry Ronk, grandchildren John Christopher Berry, Noah Franklin Berry, Heather Berry Stinson (Jason), Angela Ronk Rainey (Scott), 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. In memory of our loved one, memorial contributions may be made to Union Baptist Church, 9254 Guinea Road, Hayes, VA 23072. Services will be private-family guidance under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home.
