David Alan Bond
May 22, 1951 - April 11, 2020
A tribute to all of you in the county who may have been a friend or neighbor, buddy or acquaintance, classmate or co-worker, family member, or one of many who played softball with him … David Alan Bond (though you would probably never hear him say it) loved and revered each and every one of you. David was a real mixed bag of complexities; and on his behalf, he was his own person. Even unto death, David truly charted his own course. He was a man of few words, so I never felt I knew his heart; but I did know The One Who Created That Heart, and I felt God had given it to me to watch over and to take care of. David and I spoke the following as our wedding vows nearly twenty four years ago. I thought it worthy to share, as God has been faithful and true through Jesus Christ Our Lord to fulfill His promise to us, and to see us through this journey. "The Lord will be our Sheppard, We will not want. He will make us to lie down in green pastures, He will lead us by the still waters, and He will restore our souls. He will lead us in the paths of righteousness for His name sake. Although we will walk through the valley of the Shadow of death we will fear no evil- For You will be With us. Your rod and your staff they will comfort us. You will prepare a table for us in the presence of our enemies. You will anoint our heads with oil our cup will run over. Surely, goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives, and we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." (Revised Psalm 23) Thank you all for playing your own important role in the life of this one really tough but wonderful guy. Sincerely, Glenda Gail Bond David's Helper (Genesis 2:18)
