Denise Rainier Fracasse

March 18, 1954 - April 25, 2022

Denise Rainier Fracasse died on Monday, April 25, 2022, at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital at the age of 68. She was born on March 18, 1954, to Roland Brown Rainier and Mary Jeanette Robbins Rainier. Denise was a loving woman with a big heart. She was very involved in Union Baptist Church’s Sunday School classes where she was a teacher. Many will remember her as “Ms. Clara”. She was compassionate towards children and always referred to them as “her babies”. Outside of church, Denise could name any flower she saw and was a wonderful cook known for her corn fritters, fried chicken, and fried oysters. Denise would always say, “It’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.” She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Michael “Vinnie” Fracasse. Denise is survived by her husband Jay, children Jamie Fracasse (Carrie) and Maria Sturgeon (Wayne), and grandchildren, Jeannie Fracasse, Anthony Fracasse, Hunter Sturgeon, and Hannah Sturgeon, Seth Fracasse & Caleb Fracasse. Great-granddaughter, Isabella Dean also survives her. A celebration of Life Service will be held at Gloucester Church of Christ, 2432 Hayes Road, Hayes VA 23072 on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 11:00 am, officiated by Minister Robbie Brunjes. A reception will follow in the social hall. Inurnment will be private. Services under the direction of Hogg Funeral Home and Crematory.
