Robert Paul Seaford Jr.

July 31, 1954 - December 9, 2020

Robert Paul Seaford, Jr., age 66 of Gloucester, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday December 9, 2020. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding as a Master Shipbuilder with 41 years of service and was a graduate of the Apprentice School and Thomas Nelson Community College. Robert was a man of many talents – a high school athlete, licensed electrician, expert firewood splitter, and handyman. He was spending his retirement years remodeling a mountain cabin. He was a hardworking family man that helped neighbors and friends throughout his life. He spent several years volunteering with the Abingdon Volunteer Fire Department and maintaining soccer fields for the Gloucester Baystars Soccer Club. His lifelong dedication in the service of his fellow man won him the respect and friendship of many. He loved his family and country and was proud of both. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kathy Seaford, sons Matthew Seaford and Tommy Seaford, daughter-in-law Michelle Seaford, and grandchildren Triston, Kennedy, Owen, Brennan, Avery, and Thatcher. He is also survived by his brother Blair Seaford (Lamis) and sister Paulette Gouger (Jimmy). The family will receive friends on Monday December 14, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home. Masks are required for entry and social distancing is mandatory. A private graveside ceremony will be held at Rosewell Memorial Gardens.
